Dömle Herrgård Spa & Resort

Dömle Herrgård is located by the shore of Smårissjön in the heart of Värmland, surrounded by forests and a magical park, just over half an hour from Karlstad. The history begins as early as 1446, when the estate was given as a wedding gift to Katarina Bengtsdotter – since then there have been forges, a mill, a sawmill, and an ironworks, and between 1946 and 2004, Dömle was a diocesan retreat. The small church near the main building still stands and is still used for weddings.

The rooms are distributed between the main building, the South Wing, Sjögården, and Frugården, many with views of the lake. The spa features pools, jacuzzis, a sauna, and treatments, and the kitchen serves award-winning food with wines from the wine cellar. The estate has its own swimming beach, and right next to it lies Forshaga Golf Club's 18-hole course. Bicycles and canoes can be borrowed – and the 90-kilometer long bicycle path Klarälvsbanan starts almost around the corner.
