Gáldu Hotel & Spa

Gáldu Hotel & Spa is located in Laanila just outside Saariselkä, right on the edge of Urho Kekkonen National Park – one of Europe's largest protected natural areas. The family-owned boutique hotel opened at the end of 2025 and is built from sustainable wood, featuring dark facades that blend into the pine forest and large windows facing the mountains.

The name comes from Sámi and refers to the cold spring or ice bath – and it is the contrast between warm and cold that is at the center. In the forest spa, there are three different saunas and three outdoor pools: a warm swimming pool, a jacuzzi, and a cold bath. The hotel's 31 rooms and suites have floor-to-ceiling windows, and the largest suites have their own jacuzzi. The restaurant serves modern Lapland cuisine using local ingredients.

Gáldu is perfect for a romantic spa weekend in Lapland, with the chance to see the northern lights from the spa. The nearest airport is Ivalo, about half an hour away.
