Hotel Brosundet

Hotel Brosundet is located right by the Brosundet canal in the middle of Ålesund, the city that was rebuilt in Art Nouveau style after the great fire in 1904. This family-owned boutique hotel is housed in an old warehouse for the city's fishing industry, and the facades go straight down into the water – from the windows, you can see fishing boats glide in and out through the strait.

The hotel's most special room is number 47: the Molja lighthouse at the harbor entrance, a short walk from the main building, designed by the architectural firm Snøhetta, with breakfast delivered to the door. The house also has a restaurant, afternoon tea on Saturdays, concerts in front of the 16.5-meter high open fireplace in the lobby, and Sundet gym and bath with sauna and outdoor pool. The hotel has been awarded a Michelin key.

Hotel Brosundet is perfect for a romantic weekend by the sea and is a great base for excursions to Geirangerfjord and the Sunnmørsalpene.
