The Thief

The Thief is one of Oslo's most exclusive hotels and is located on the modern peninsula of Tjuvholmen, an area that has transformed from an industrial harbor to a vibrant center for art, architecture, and gastronomy. The hotel opened in 2013 and has since become a symbol of modern Norwegian design and luxurious accommodation.

The name “The Thief” is a playful nod to the area's history – Tjuvholmen literally means “thief island,” as the island was previously used as a prison site. Today, however, the hotel only steals the hearts of its guests with its sophisticated atmosphere, carefully selected artworks, and award-winning service.

The interior is created by Norwegian designer Anemone Wille Våge, who combines dark tones, soft textures, and international elegance. The hotel also collaborates with the Astrup Fearnley Museum, and several works by contemporary artists adorn the walls in both rooms and common areas.
