Juvet Landscape Hotel

Juvet Landscape Hotel is located on the Burtigarden farm by Alstad, just outside Valldal – about an hour and a half drive from Ålesund and close to both Trollstigen and Geirangerfjord. The hotel is considered Europe’s first landscape hotel: freestanding rooms made of wood and glass on steel pillars, placed among birch, aspen, pine, and large boulders on a steep riverbank, making nature itself the decor.

The landscape rooms have one or two walls made entirely of glass with views of the forest and the Valldøla river – the setting is known from the movie Ex Machina. The spa, Bath House, is built into the terrain by the river, and every evening a three-course dinner is served in the old barn for the hotel’s guests.

Juvet is perfect for a romantic and nature-close weekend for those looking to completely disconnect from everyday life. The hotel is open from the end of February to the end of November, and weekends are booked as whole weekends Friday–Sunday – book well in advance.
