Manshausen

Manshausen is located on a small island in Grøtøysundet in Nordland, a short boat ride from the mainland and with views of the Lofoten wall and the mountains of Hamarøy. The island was a trading post in the 19th century and has today become one of Norway's most talked-about design accommodations, founded by polar explorer Børge Ousland.

The accommodation consists of architect-designed cabins made of wood and glass that extend over the water at the waterfront, with floor-to-ceiling windows facing the sea, sky, and the constantly changing Arctic light. Here you can kayak, hike, dive, fish, or go skiing from a boat in winter – and in the evening enjoy seasonal ingredients in the main building.

Manshausen is perfect for an adventurous and nature-close weekend in the Arctic, with midnight sun in the summer and northern lights during the winter months.
